BAKU.03.12.2004. MEDIA-PRESS: The law "On Living Wage" has entered into force in Azerbaijan. According to the law at calculation of living wage cost of food goods and nonfood ones is taken into account as well taxes and other liable payments.
Calculation of living wage is carried out twice a year and its total for the next year is confirmed at the same time with the project of the state budget for the next year. Moreover, the executive power is to calculate poverty limit every year on basis of living wage. This rate will be taken into account at calculation of minimum wage, pension, allowances, grants and volumes of addressed social aid.
The law provides that a total of minimum pension and salary is to be increased stage by stage up to "living wage".
